Fiji has been re-elected Chair of the Regional Steering Group for Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in Asia and the Pacific for the 2026–2030 term. A man in his 60s has been remanded in custody following his appearance in the Taveuni Magistrates Court on allegations involving a 14-year-old girl. The accused faces one count of indecently annoying a person, two counts of sexual assault and one count of rape.
