Jai Shree Swaminarayan! It’s always a pleasure and privilege to come to this temple. I was here not long ago—celebrating Holi with colour and joy, and Diwali with light and love… together with many of you whom I consider more like family than friends. Tonight is particularly special—as significant as it is symbolic. Significant, as we mark 20 years of one of the oldest Hindu temples in Australia, and the first Swaminarayan temple of this organisation in Australasia. Symbolic, because this mandir was personally inaugurated by His Holiness Achaa-riya Shree Kosha-lendra-prasaad-ji Maharaj the seventh spiritual heir of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan,…
The Hon. Leader expressed his excitement at witnessing a remarkable turnout of over 200,000 attendees from across Australia over the three-day event. The Sikh Games Organising Committee provided a detailed briefing on the rich 35-year history of the Games, highlighting its significance within the community. Young Australians enthusiastically engaged with the Leader and expressed their appreciation for the Liberal Party’s commitment to diversity, noting the selection of a candidate from a richly multicultural background in the electorate of Greenway. As a show of support, the Liberal Party pledged $450,000 towards the Sikh Games to be held next year in Melbourne,…
The Hindu community of NSW has marked an historic milestone with the acquisition of a new property in Sydney’s West, set to become a vibrant cultural hub with the support of $3.75 million from the Minns Labor Government. The Hindu Cultural and Education Centre in Parramatta will be a central touchpoint for the Hindu community, hosting cultural events, music and dance classes, yoga, and activities for seniors and young people. The Hindu Council of Australia (HCA) will also use the space to run training for Hindu chaplains and religious education teachers, and to store important religious and cultural texts. The…
We are proud to announce the successful inauguration of the Hindu Hub in Parramatta, marking a historic moment for the Hindu community in New South Wales and across Australia. This new community centre, aptly named “Prārambh” (meaning ‘an auspicious beginning’), was formally opened on Sunday, 13th April 2025, in the presence of our community members, member organisations, political dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers. The event was held to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Premier of NSW, whose unwavering support played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. The Honourable Premier’s presence, along with Minister for Multiculturalism,…
In her remards Michelle Rowland Said: Jai Shri Krishna Bhagwat Smaran — may our hearts and minds be filled with the divine remembrance of Lord Krishna as we come together for this special, and spiritual, event. I am humbled and honoured to welcome His Holiness Shri Dwarkeshlalji Mahodayashri back to Australia. Tonight is significant and symbolic. We are gathered to celebrate the 24th Utsav of the Vaishnav Sangh of Sydney. And what makes this occasion even more memorable, is the fact that His Holiness has graced this celebration every year. This is a testament to his deep love for this community. A reflection of his…
Jai Shri Krishna It’s an honour to be here with you. This spiritual institution is unlike any other, carrying the weight and wisdom of an 800-year-old legacy from India. This is not just any temple, or gathering. This evening, we celebrate a deep spiritual tradition that takes us back to the divine land of Udupi often revered as the Mathura of South India. It was there, more than 800 years ago, that the great Sri Madhvacharya established the Udupi Krishna Temple—ushering in a tradition of worship and service, of scholarship and community strength. What touched me most when learning about this legacy, was the scale…
Hai Mera Dil a Roaring Success Hai Mera Dil! It truly stimulated your dil as it had wit, it had humour, it had satire! It had a punchline every minute; no I stand corrected, every single dialogue was comical and the timing was perfect. I laughed so hard at the character interactions, only to see the others were laughing even harder. It was one of the best theatricals that Sydney has seen. It was a courageous venture for Screan Australia and Manju Mittal to fly out five of Ank Theatre’s amazing artists from Mumbai. The script was sharp and contemporary,…
