Sixty women vendors at the Suva Municipal Market have received food safety training aimed at improving hygiene, food preparation and handling practices. The two-day programme was conducted by Health Inspectors from the Suva City Council, with both women and men vendors taking part in practical sessions on safe food preparation, hygiene and proper food handling. A man charged with the alleged attempted murder of a police officer has been arrested after police executed a bench warrant issued by the Suva High Court. Police arrested Saimoni Rokotunidau this morning at a residence on Nasinu Road. Assistant Commissioner of Police Kasiano Vusonilawe says officers from the Serious Organised Crime Unit, the K9 Unit and Valelevu CID carried out the arrest.
