The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a Damaging Heavy Swell Alert for the Mamanuca Waters, Southwest Viti Levu Waters, Kadavu Passage, Koro Sea and Lau Waters as hazardous sea conditions are expected to develop from tomorrow night. According to the weather office, a high pressure system interacting with a low pressure system located far southwest of Fiji is expected to generate damaging swells across the affected waters. The Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) has confirmed that scholarship applications for Semester 2 and Quarter 3 new intakes will not be accepted, following the full allocation of scholarship funding for the 2025–2026 financial year. With all available scholarships now committed, applications from new students have been placed on hold until the next intake period in 2027.
