Police have arrested one of three suspects allegedly involved in a daylight burglary in the Nasinu area. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe said the suspect was arrested in Namadi and is currently being held at the Valelevu Police Station. ACP Vusonilawe said the suspect will also be questioned in relation to other pending cases involving similar offences. Police continue to search for the remaining two suspects. Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found motionless outside the Lautoka Post Office this morning. The man, who was known to be a street dweller, was found by a 45-year-old man who alerted Police. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The Acting Director of Public Prosecutions’ Office has conceded that electronic devices belonging to Former Journalist Charlie Charters should have been released immediately after the High Court granted a stay in proceedings against him. This was heard in the High Court during an application by Charters against the Commissioner of Police seeking the return of his devices and other personal property. The Ranibulu community now has a restored place of worship and gathering following the renovation of the Ranibulu Shree Sanatan Dharam Ganesh Mandir. The temple had suffered extensive termite damage, leaving the building in poor condition and in need of urgent repairs. Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts, Charan Jeath Singh, officially commissioned the renovated temple.
