A 48-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of a 19-year-old woman following a fire incident in Levuka Street, Samabula, on 24 December 2025. Police allege the accused intentionally started the fire at her flat after becoming dissatisfied with a previous agreement to purchase the property, which did not proceed. The 19-year-old victim, who was inside one of the flats at the time, was unable to escape the fire and later died.
