We are proud to announce the successful inauguration of the Hindu Hub in Parramatta, marking a historic moment for the Hindu community in New South Wales and across Australia.

This new community centre, aptly named “Prārambh” (meaning ‘an auspicious beginning’), was formally opened on Sunday, 13th April 2025, in the presence of our community members, member organisations, political dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers.

The event was held to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Premier of NSW, whose unwavering support played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life.

The Honourable Premier’s presence, along with Minister for Multiculturalism, Treasurer of NSW and other Member of Parliamentarians Donna Davis MP, Charishma Kaliyanda MP, Dr Hugh McDermott MP, Warren Kirby MP, Julia Finn MP,  alongside Local Councillors, Community Leaders, and many Honourable Guests.

The program opened with an invocation from the eternal wisdom of Hindu scriptures:  “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The world is one family.” This powerful message formed the central theme of the day, reminding everyone that unity and shared humanity are the cornerstones of our multicultural society.

The Hindu Hub will serve as:

    • A centre for cultural exchange and learning
    • A space for youth engagement, language education, and interfaith dialogue
    • A place for conducting classes (Cultural, Yoga and Meditation)
    • A venue for events that promote values of inclusion, tradition, and community serviceFederal MP for Parramatta Dr Andrew Charlton remarked:   Karma Kitchen shows the generous heart of the Hindu community in Australia.  For over a decade, Karma Kitchen has provided free meals to people in need – the government is proud to help them reach even more community members.” The Hindu Council extends its heartfelt thanks to all who attended and supported this vision, from the government representatives to local volunteers. It also invites the broader Australian community to engage with the Hindu Hub as a space for learning, dialogue, and harmony.
