The Government-funded Insurance Scheme for Social Welfare Recipients will officially end on August 1 following the implementation of the 2026-2027 National Budget. The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection says the scheme, which was managed by the Ministry of Finance, will no longer operate after Parliament approved the new budget without allocating funding for its continuation.
