The Biosecurity Authority of Fiji has confirmed that the biosecurity emergency declaration for the Yasawa Group and Mamanuca Islands remains in effect as authorities continue working to contain and eliminate the Tongan Fruit Fly (Bactrocera facialis). Residents and travellers are reminded that host fruits and vegetables cannot be transported out of the declared areas. Restricted produce includes mangoes, guavas, papayas, citrus fruits, avocados, breadfruit, tomatoes, cucurbits and other identified host materials.
