Police say the incident occurred on the morning of 14 May 2026 during a drinking party, where the victim was allegedly subjected to a serious assault. Flooding at the Votualevu Roundabout continues to create problems for motorists and the public during heavy rain, with blocked drains caused by rubbish disposal identified as a major contributing factor. While severe weather is often blamed for road flooding, drainage issues linked to waste dumping are also adding to the problem.
