Two university students who were charged with murder are now free men after the State discontinued the case against them, citing insufficient evidence. Nineteen-year-olds Alexander Leweniqila and Manoa Vakavunivalu were discharged after the State filed a nolle prosequi before the High Court in Suva this morning. The two had been jointly charged with 20-year-old Aisake Lovobalavu over the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was discovered at Nauluvatu Settlement in February this year.
