Communities across Kadavu are benefiting from a significant increase in Government investment, with funding for village development rising more than fourfold over the past five years. The man was discovered by his brother, who found him inside the apartment. A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out to determine the circumstances and cause of his death. One person has died following a road accident along Keiyasi Road yesterday. The victim is believed to have been travelling as a passenger in a carrier with several other people when the vehicle reportedly veered off the road and went down a slope. The identities of the other occupants, as well as the driver, have not yet been confirmed. A passerby who discovered the crash site transported the victim to Keiyasi Hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead on arrival. The Government has now paid out $7.5 million to 298 beneficiaries under the Vatukoula settlement, bringing the implementation of the $9.025 million commitment to 83 percent. For the 63 remaining beneficiaries, the money has already been approved and set aside. However, payments totalling $1.525 million cannot yet be released because the required estate documents have not been completed. Of the outstanding cases, 58 beneficiaries are due to receive the full $25,000 settlement payment.
