Cabinet has approved plans to develop the Rokobili Transshipment Port, a major infrastructure initiative aimed at boosting Fiji’s role as a regional centre for shipping, trade and investment. The project will be delivered in stages, starting with the construction of essential port and logistics infrastructure before expanding to industrial and logistics precincts designed to support manufacturing, trade and other commercial operations. Development of the port will be carried out through a competitive Expressions of Interest (EOI) process and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, allowing private sector investors to contribute expertise and funding to the project.
