Sydney family business Niva Island Wellness & Gifts will celebrate its official launch on Thursday 29 October at Stone Restaurant, Five Dock, as part of NSW Small Business Month.
Niva Island Wellness & Gifts is an Australian-owned, women-led family business from Sydney’s North West. It was founded by Fijian-born Chartered Accountant Shaleen Prasad and her Australian-born daughter, Niva. The brand offers premium wellness, self-care and island-inspired gifts, designed to bring a little of Fiji’s warmth and serenity into everyday life.
At the heart of the business is Niva. She was born prematurely and lives with additional needs. Rather than focusing on limitations, the family chose to focus on possibilities, and created a business where Niva could build confidence, learn new skills and share her creativity. Today she is involved in everything from product ideas and presentation to packaging and gifting.

The launch evening, ‘Connecting Culture, Purpose and Opportunity’, will bring together small business owners, community leaders and members of the Fijian community. Guests will hear the founders’ story and see the reveal of the brand’s first signature range, the Island Luxe Collection: Vanilla Body Butter, Vanilla Breeze Hair & Body Mist and Sea Salt Body Scrub.
