Oceania Woman was inspired by the Pacific Women’s Celebrate Brilliance breakfast earlier this year, to connect, share the unique gifts&talents of Pacific women; to empower and inspire new opportunities for Pacific women.

A door opened mid-way through the production and aspiring soprano Ani Lewaniu joined accomplished mezzo-soprano Ana Fifita-Otai (a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, lead songstress for Oceania Woman Opera and niece of the late Professor Epeli Hau’ofa) and Lealosina Samuels also of Fiji and Samoan ethnicity to form the Oceania Woman trio. Hailing from Namosi with maternal links to Vanuabalavu, Lau, Fiji is Ani Lewaniu, a member of The University of the South Pacific Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies Pasifika Voices choir since 2012.
