‘Tiger is Extremely Shy’

Jacqueline Fernandez has been in her best form in recent times. It all started from her association with Houseful’ followed by Housefull 2, Murder 2, Race 2, Kick, Dishoom  and others. Our Bollywood guide ‘G9 Divya Solgama’ spoke to her about her film Flying Jatt, Kick, Tiger Shroff, Social Media and her forthcoming films produced by Salman Khan…

jac-fijiJacqueline, looks like 2016 has been a great year for you with back-to-back releases. Was this a planned move or it just randomly happened?

Jacqueline Fernandez – Yes, even I feel so but I didn’t plan the release dates. I signed Flying JattDishoom, Housefull 3, immediately after that, Housefull was announced with a June release date then Dishoom was announced July and nowFlying Jatt in August. I was like I am so screwed. Sometimes you don’t know when certain things are going to release and then they all come together. This has always been the story of my life; either there’s never anything or all of a sudden everything comes at once. I rather have everything come at once than nothing.

Jacqueline, kindly walk us through your role in the movie Flying Jatt?

Jacqueline Fernandez – I play an environment studies teacher. Tiger plays a Karate teacher. It is really a fun role because the first time I felt that someone tapped me into a much bubblier, louder character for me. Most of the time, I have the more sexier, bold or glamorous kind of a character and this is the first time I am getting to play a character that’s really loud and doesn’t care and is kind of cheeky. It was fun.And I do fall in love with the super hero. I always wanted to play a teacher. And trust me, I am not hot in the film.

Jacqueline, Kick was the turning point for your career. Kindly share us about the post Kick phase in your life?

Jacqueline Fernandez – Post Kick, in the past two years, I have been able to do five movies. This hasn’t happened to me. I am starting two more now in the same year. Since Kick, it’s been an amazing dream which I don’t want to end. Work has been good, offers have been great. Right now I am just hope that I keep growing and that is what is important for me. Before Kick, what went wrong was that fact that I didn’t have any confidence. I was working really very hard but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that I was definitely doing one thing wrong and now that I reflect back on it, it was the fact that I didn’t have enough confidence.

Jacqueline, most of your films have been opposite superstars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and others. So how was the experience of working with a relatively new actors Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan?

Jacqueline Fernandez –There is no difference. What Salman or Akshay or these superstars have is definitely the years of experience. The reason why I feel they are still the superstar is because they have the exact same energy that all of these guys have. They have a different level of focus, dedication, determination and passion.
They all have one thing in common, they are all ambitious and they all want to do really well. Tiger is extremely shy. I am usually the one talking and cracking joke, and actually, he is a really fun person to be around but he keeps calling himself boring. For my personality, because I am more extroverted, like when I hang out with Tiger, who is introvert it’s a lot of fun because I am doing all the talking. Despite of the fact that we are very different personalities, we have a lot of common interests as well, like we both fitness, we’re into dance, we love healthy eating, we discuss travel and movies, in general, as well. So we have a lot of similarities as well. I sometimes like embarrassing him especially now since we are doing promotions but sometimes he gets back at me.

Jacqueline, are you addicted towards the social media?

Jacqueline Fernandez –There I don’t know about being addicted to it, right now, I feel, I have been promoting 3 back-to-back films and lot of the promotions are digital and I am strong at digital, so it’s a great way for me to communicate with my fans, to gets news out about my films and let people know what’s going on. I feel that now that I am on this platform, it’s a chance for me to communicate with my fans and let them know what’s going on.

Jacqueline, kindly share us something about your action film with Sushant Singh Rajput which will be a co-production of Salman Khan and Dharma?
Jacqueline Fernandez – We will start for it sometime next year. It is a very interesting kind of script and role. Even right now, when I am looking at script and role, I definitely want to make it a lot meatier and challenging for myself. So this is definitely something which is meatier, that’s for sure. You will be able to see a different side in this film.
