In the third and final test match at the Ranchi, India batted first and declared their innings on 497/9. Rohit Sharma who was a Man of the Match and Man of the Series scored his maiden double hundred in the test match cricket.
Rohit hit 28 boundaries and 6 sixes in his brilliant innings of 212, Rehane who scored 115 had a 267 runs partnership with Sharma.
South Africans scored only 162 runs in their first innings and 133 in their second.
T de Bruyn who batted to replace Dean Elgar as a concussion replacement and Rishabh Pant substituted Saha as a wicket-keeper, is one of the highlights of the test match.
Indian seam bowlers who took 26 wickets at the average of 17.50, Rohit Sharma scored 529 at the average of 132 is the highlights of the series. India outperformed South Africans in all three departments throughout the series and finished the series with a whitewashed.
