Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro and Member for Clarence Chris Gulaptis today welcomed Consuls General and Trade Commissioners from 15 different countries to Casino, for the launch of the Regional NSW Investment Prospectus. The Investment Prospectus is an interactive online tool designed to attract national and international investment in regional NSW.

Mr Barilaro launched the new website while visiting Richmond Dairies in Casino this morning. The large number of international guests attended the launch as part of a two-day trade mission which will showcase the Northern Rivers as an investment location. Mr Barilaro said the launch of the Prospectus, together with the trade mission, would showcase the region to an important international audience.

“Never before has a trade delegation of this size and stature visited Casino and the broader Northern Rivers region,” Mr Barilaro said. “Over the next two days the delegation will see some of the region’s best businesses in action, and enjoy the region’s top produce and stunning scenery,” he said. Mr Barilaro said the Regional NSW Investment Prospectus will highlight the benefits and opportunities associated with investing in regional NSW, and showcase the strong track record of successful investments by international companies.

“The Investment Prospectus will highlight to potential investors the enormous benefits associated with doing business and creating businesses in regional areas of NSW,” Mr Barilaro said. “Attracting investment is key to ensuring regional areas continue to grow, offer great job opportunities and become even more vibrant places to live. “The interactive Prospectus will not only be a tool for prospective investors, it’s also a tool for businesses in regional NSW seeking investment, and in some cases will work to “match make” investors with those businesses looking to grow,” he said.

Mr Gulaptis said it is was an honour to host the Deputy Premier and representatives from 15 countries in his electorate of Clarence. “What a huge win and amazing opportunity for this region,” Mr Gulaptis said. “It’s unprecedented to have so many international delegates in our backyard,” he said. The Investment Prospectus will focus on supporting businesses that are expanding and developing new market opportunities, setting up greenfield operations or planning to relocate to regional NSW.
