My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2016 winners Tasia and Gracia will add spice and a whole lot of chillies to the stage at the 2016 Cabramatta Moon Festival on Sunday 4 September. The Mayor of Fairfield City said Tasia and Gracia were bringing their cooking skills to the festival, adding to the celebrity entertainment line-up this year.

tasia-fiji“Tasia and Gracia will excite your taste buds with some great recipes, including their spicy prawn and sesame toast,” the Mayor said. “The ‘Spice Sisters’ will share with the audience their passion for food and culture by showcasing their culinary tips on stage at 11.05am and 1.35pm at the at the Mekong Mounties Group Stage.

“They are entertaining, energetic, fun and proud of their Indonesian culture and heritage.” Tasia and Gracia are Indonesian-born Australian sisters, who won the hearts of the nation and the popular 2016 TV series “My Kitchen Rules. After growing up in Indonesia, India and Australia, the girls have used these international influences in their cooking style. “We’ve heard so much about the Cabramatta Moon Festival and are so thrilled we can be a part this year’s event,” Gracia said. “I can’t wait to try some of the delicious festival food I keep hearing about.“Food and cooking is our passion and we look forward to sharing our favourite family recipes with you. The festival is going to be so much fun; we can’t wait to see you all there.”

Tasia and Gracia will take audiences through a step-by-step process of how to cook an authentic Omelette Mie Goreng and Prawn and Sesame Toast with Sweet Chilli Sauce. The Cabramatta Moon Festival is the event for food lovers, hungry to try the City’s famous authentic cultural cuisines. The festival is recognised as one of Sydney’s largest and brightest Asian cultural celebrations, attracting more than 90,000 people from across Sydney and NSW each year.

Entry is free. Transport to the festival is available by boarding a train to Cabramatta train station. Cabramatta Station falls on the T3 Bankstown, T5 Cumberland and T2 Inner west and south lines and is a 45-minute journey from Central train station. Take advantage of the public transport for easy access to the festival door at Cabramatta Town Centre.

For Fairfield City residents, there will be free shuttle services running to Cabramatta throughout the day.
