Minister for Multiculturalism, Ray Williams today appointed Joseph La Posta as the Chief Executive Officer of Multicultural NSW.

Mr Williams said Mr La Posta has spent more than a decade in executive community engagement roles, including for the Australian Football League, Sport NSW and most recently talkforce.

“As a specialist in promoting the importance of cultural diversity, engaging multicultural communities and supporting social cohesion, Joseph brings a wealth of knowledge to the role,” Mr Williams said.

“Joseph will provide fresh and innovative ideas to ensure diversity remains our strongest asset in NSW and all communities feel supported.”

Mr La Posta said he was looking forward to building on the existing knowledge at Multicultural NSW.

“NSW is the most culturally diverse State in Australia and we are often recognised for our community harmony but we cannot afford to be complacent,” Mr La Posta said.

“It’s important we continue to draw on our strengths and provide a roadmap to clearly articulate our long-term goals to support multicultural communities in NSW.”

Mr La Posta will commence in the position in mid-January 2019.
