A new regional office for the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has been opened in Suva. Located at Level 2 Ra Marama House on Gordon Street, the office will promote development cooperation between Korea and Fiji along with other Pacific Islands countries. In his congratulatory remarks, the Vice President for KOICA, Kim In said the office will work together with the Fiji Government and the Pacific region countries for the socio-economic development and response to the climate change in the Pacific region. Mr Kim said the office in Fiji was very meaningful in a sense that 2016 is the landmark year for starting for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the new climate change regime. Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Veena Bhatnagar was also a guest speaker at the opening of the new office.
