ROLLING STONES FANS TO GET SOME SATISFACTION IN SYDNEY
Sydney has secured the Australian exclusive of Exhibitionism, the critically acclaimed multimedia exhibition celebrating 50 years of the Rolling Stones. NSW Premier Mike Baird said the exhibition was making its way around the world and would arrive in Sydney in 2018.
āWeāre pleased the greatest rock band of all time has selected Sydney as the only Australian stop on the global tour of their exhibition,ā Mr Baird said. āItās a great endorsement for Sydney as Australiaās event capital and we look forward to hosting Exhibitionism at the new International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney.ā
Minister for Major Events and Tourism Stuart Ayres said, āWe have a proven track record in hosting world-class events and expect this exhibition will attract thousands of people to Sydney and deliver an estimated $35 million to the local economy.ā Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger said, āWe’ve been thinking about this for quite a long time but we wanted it to be just right and on a large scale. Itās not going to be like walking into a museum. Itās going to be an event, an experience. Itās about a sense of the Rolling Stones ā itās something we want people to go away talking about.ā
āWhile this is about the Rolling Stones, it’s not necessarily only just about us,ā said Keith Richards. āItās also about all the paraphernalia and technology associated with a group like us, and itās this, as well as the instruments that have passed through our hands over the years, that should make the exhibition unforgettable.ā The multi-media experience celebrates the Rolling Stonesā incredible recording and touring career and features their artistic collaborations in music, art and design, film, video, fashion, and live performance, with over 500 original artefacts from the bandās archives.
ExhibitionismĀ was secured by Destination NSWĀ in conjunction with TEG Live and iEC Exhibitions! and will open at the ICC Sydney in November 2018. For more information visit: www.stonesexhibitionism.com
