Twenty one Fijian students pursuing their six-year medical studies in Cuba have been encouraged by Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama to study hard and make Fiji proud.
Prime Minister Bainimarama treated the students to a scrumptious lunch where he also addressed them regarding their studies today.
“You’ve left your families to pursue your dreams further. Focus on your studies and make Fiji proud,” he said.
“It’s encouraging to hear your different stories and experiences here in Cuba and I hope you will continue to do your best.”
The Prime Minister said his government was always ready to assist in whichever it could for the benefit of the students.
In another separate event, Prime Minister Bainimarama also met with Cuba’s President of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, Mr Osvaido Montiller where they discussed sports-related issues of mutual interest.
