It was colourful, joyous and patriotic moment for residents at the Homes of Hope in Wailoku, Suva as they celebrated Fiji Day this morning.
Officiating at the celebration, Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Veena Bhatnagar said as a nation Fiji has achieved a lot over the years and the Government is optimistic that with unity among the people of the nation, a lot more can be done.
“This year’s celebration is targeting the younger generation because you are the key to having a more unified country tomorrow. It is through instilling understanding and mutual respect from a young age that one can aspire to building a better country.”
With the theme “A progressive and sustainable Fiji for all”, Asst. Minister Bhatnagar, who handed out gifts to the home to assist with the management of the home, added that this is in line with the Government focus on prioritising prosperity of all Fijians and the protection and the wellbeing of future generations.
