International megastar Akshay Kumar is known for his patriotism and love towards defence personnel and his recent gesture touched 103 families of brave martyrs. He made their Diwali festivities even more meaningful by extending support to the families of brave soldiers who have laid their lives for their country.
The actor presented the families of slain soldiers from the Kolhapur region in Maharashtra with a cheque of INR 25,000 and a box of sweets. He not only sent a cheque but also a personally signed letter for each family, making the gesture all the more thoughtful and personal.
In the heartfelt letter, he talked about the sacrifice made by the martyrs of India and wrote, “We all are proud of your family member for his Sacrifice to the nation. I know you are missing your loved ones on this Diwali Festival. But I request you to start the new year with courage. Sending a small gift of sweets and books for children. Please accept with love.” However, this isn’t the first time Akshay Kumar has done something like this. Even after the Uri terror attacks, he went on to donate INR 5 lakh to every family of the martyrs.
