Team India has started their world cup campaign with a 6 wickets victory over South Africa. India’s Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 122 with 13 fours and 2 sixes, MS Dhoni who scored 34 runs, was the second highest scorer.
Without Steyn and NginiSouth Africans bowling attack led by Rabada and Morris, who bowled with tight line and length but the sloppy fielding let them down.
Earlier, while SA’s were batting Jaspreet Bumrah took two early wickets of Amla and De Kock and made the road easier for the Indian spinners, Chahal and Yadav. Bumrah was the most economical bowler, finished his 10 overs spell with 2 for 35 runs, while Chahal was the leading wicket-taker finished his spell with 4 for 51 runs.
With help up lower order batsmen SA ended up a respectable total of 227 in 50 overs. Morris who batted at number 8 was the highest scorer, who scored 42 runs.
