I am delighted to acknowledge Multicultural Health Week. This year’s theme Talk, Listen, Ask – For Better Health, is a wonderful opportunity to support communities from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background.
In NSW we come from 262 birthplaces, practise 144 religions, and speak 275 languages. Multicultural Health Week is a successful state-wide event that highlights the importance of language and culture in health services. This week will provide an opportunity for people to raise health issues and concerns in multicultural communities.
As Minister for Multiculturalism, I thank NSW Health for organising this significant and supportive cultural event across NSW.
I encourage you to attend local health events in your community.
